National Personal Training Institute Faculty are highly educated individuals that have been recognized in the sports and fitness fields. All of our instructors have personal training experience as well as classroom teaching experience. Our goal is to provide our students with the best possible education in a unique and engaging environment. Our instructors provide an incredible depth of experience that every student can learn from. Matt Bean, BS, CSCS, LMT, Director/Instructor
Matt has been teaching for NPTI since 2009 and serves as the Director and Lead Instructor for the Charlotte location. He graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Health Science Education. Upon graduation he enrolled at the Florida School of Massage where he specialized in Sports Massage. Matt also became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association in 2003.
Matt has over 10 years of experience in the fitness/wellness industry. He has worked in various settings from big gyms, physical therapy clinics, chiropractic offices, the YMCA, and most recently before joining NPTI he was managing for one of the fastest growing PT studios in the greater Charlotte area. Throughout these settings he has worked with a wide range of clientele from high school and college athletes, NASCAR pit crews and drivers, triathletes, to weekend warriors and those who just want to improve their quality of living. He has used the various experiences he has gained through his personal training and massage to enhance the quality of education he passes on to his students.
Greg Hixenbaugh, BS, ACSM, CSCS, NASM
Greg received his Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology and has 13 years of experience as a personal trainer. His work as national lecturer for four years and as an instructor at Central Peidmont Community College has made him an incredibly effective teacher in the NPTI program. Greg has spent many years as a health club consultant and holds several personal training certifications including: Health Fitness Specialist (ACSM), CSCS (NSCA), Certified Personal Trainer (NASM) & Performance Enhancement Specialist (NASM), and WITS (World Instructor Training School) CPT & Lecturer
Greg has also served as the assistant strength coach for the Carolina Panthers and is currently working on a masters degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology.
